Amberley Show
Entries for the Amberley Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s show on Saturday may be a record. Whether this will be achieved will depend on the number of entries in the flower sections which will close later this week. For the other classes 3005 entries have been received. This is well ahead of last year’s corresponding tally of 2860, which was subsequently increased by the flower entries to 3047, the second biggest entry received for the show. The record entry was that of 1960, when the total was 3147.
The entries, with those for last year in parenthesis, are. Horses, 636 (794); sheep, 552 (595); grain and seed, 99 (67); cattle, 69 (61); wool, 48 (60); dogs, 20 (11); poultry, 155 (89); home produce, cooking, needlework, and art, 297 (228); junior, 1129 (955); total 3005 (2860).
