COACH TOUR TRAVELLERS

New Zealanders Keen

New Zealanders made un 60 per cent of the passengers who travelled with Penn Tours, Ltd, on coach tours, said Mr D. Cook, one of the founders of the company, in an interview in Christchurch.

Formed 10 years ago, the company now had more than 20 coaches, all air-condit-ioned, travelling through 15 countries with 90 per cent bookings throughout the year, he said. Russia nad been added to the tour programme this year, said Mr Cook. Next year 20 tours would be run there.

Mr Cook was joined in Christchurch by Mr M. Wood-Power, a director of the company. The two will spend the next 10 days in New Zealand meeting travel agents, mainly to promote their European tours, which are aimed almost exclusively at the markets in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
