Aust. Omits Captain (N.Z Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. The Australian soccer selectors have made one of their most controversial decisions by omitting the national team captain, P. Hughes, for the tour of Asia, including the tournament in South Vietnam.

Nineteen players have been named, seven from Sydney, five from Melbourne, four from Adelaide, two from Brisbane and one from Newcastle. The team will leave for Saigon on October 30 to take part in the South Vietnam international tournament, and later the side will play matches in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and probably Burma'.
