Market Slide Arrested

The market slide was arrested yesterday on New Zealand stock exchanges. The New Zealand list was in balance, and the Australian list showed more rises than falls. However, B.H.P. fell 25c, to 1290 c.

Leaders firmed on balance. New Zealand Insurance rose 3c, and South British Ic, but National Insurance . lost another 4c.

N.Z. Forest Products was

3c higher; General Foods was 1c easier, and J. Watye Canneries reacted to the preliminary announcement with a fall of 3c.

Trading was more active than it was on Monday.
