OYSTER BED CHECK

(N.Z. Press Association)

INVERCARGILL, Sept 19. The Marine Department will check the Fdveaux Strait oyster beds next week, the department’s Director- of Fisheries, Mr A. C. Kaberry, announced in Invercargill today. If serious depletion of any beds was revealed, the beds would be closed, and the quota for next season lowered correspondingly.

New Fly Spray.—The fly season is now approaching and many fly spray manufacturers are promoting their sprays. This is a highly competitive market and numerous bonuses and other incentives are offered. It is likely that prices for all sizer of sprays will be lower this season. A new brand called Raid will appear among the aerosol sprays. It is produced by Johnson’s Wax of N.Z., Ltd, and has a new attractively designed top. It will be available in a 9oz and a 6oz size with suggested retails of 89c and 70c.
