Flu Epidemic In Samoa
(N.Z. Press Association) APIA (Western Samoa), September 6. Samoan primary and intermediate schools have stayed closed after the August holidays because of an epidemic of unusually virulent influenza sweeping across the island.
The Director of Health (Dr. J. C. Thieme) said today that although the illness was severe, no deaths had been reported.
