Containers From N.Z.?

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND, August 16. The Auckland Manufacturers’ Association is supporting a move to ask the Government to ensure that all shipping containers used in New Zealand trade should be made in New Zealand factories.

According to the Molyneux Report, at least 8000 large (20ft by Bft by Bft) containers will be needed for the New Zealand trade, at a cost of at least slBm.

With present export incentives, he said such an order would give a great boost to New Zealand engineering, refrigeration and allied industries.
