Post Office Wanted
Disappointment at the delay in building a new post office in Lyttelton will be expressed to the PostmasterGeneral (Mr Scott) in a letter from the Lyttelton Borough Council. The council decided to send the letter on the recommendation of the town; planning committee. The committee reported receiving a letter from the Leader of the Opposition and member of Parliament for Lyttelton (Mr Kirk) enclosing a letter from Mr Scott. With the post office in its present position, persons had to face the danger of crossing Norwich quay to get to it, said Cr. R. H. Duff. The Post Office had a site and had approved in principle the building of a new post office, he said.
