Obituary LIEUT-COLONEL A. J. SUTER

A former editor of “War Cry” and a divisional commander of the Salvation Army in Canterbury, LieutenantColonel Alfred James Suter,

died in Christchurch on Sunday. He was 81. Retired from active service, Colonel Suter held several important posts during his long career as a Salvation Army officer. He served as private secretary to the territorial commander of New Zealand for some years, before serving as divisional commander in Auckland and then Christchurch.

Colonel Suter is survived by his wife and five children. A funeral service will be held at the Christchurch City Salvation Army Citadel today.
