AIR RAFFLES DEAD

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON. Ths promising three year-old Mr Raffles died yesterday at Te Rapa. Mr Raffles, which was being prepared for early classic races in the current season, was found to be dead after he fell in a training exercise. Mr Raffles (Le Filou—Lady Macßeth) was a full brother to Peterman, the top three-year-old In the 1965-66 season. He raced in the same colours as Peterman, those of the Waikato Racing Club president, Mr F. C. Johnstone, and, like Peterman, was trained by W. C. Winder. In his four starts as a two-year-old Mr Raffles had not shown a great deal of ability but his training efforts suggested he was well above average.
