Floodlight Matches

The first inter-club soccer matches to be played under floodlights at English Park will be held this evening, when Christchurch City will meet Rangers in the early game and New Brighton will play High School Old Boys. It will be City’s final run before the club’s South Island Chatham Cup final against Invercargill Thistle on Saturday. Both matches are in the O’Brien’s sponsored tournament, which City leads on goal average from ShirleyNomads. The Brighton-Old Boys game will also be a double-header for the Hurley Shield, the last fixture in this competition.
