WORLD TRIP

Plans For N.Z. Soccer

Two Auckland soecer officials will leave on a world trip this month to arrange future matches for New Zealand teams.

They will visit 19 cities and the tour will extend more than a month.

The officials are Mr C. J. Dempsey, director of promotions for the New Zealand Football Association, and Mr D. T. Mills, chairman of the Auckland Control Board. The cities they will visit are Perth, Singapore, Manila, Tokyo, Taipeh, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Teheran, Tel Aviv, at least four cities in Britain, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Suva. Mr Mills said that he hoped not only to arrange tours from New Zealand but also encourage visits with Asian countries, similar to those planned by the authorities in New Caledonia, who have invited New Zealand and Australia to compete in a triangular tournament in Noumea in November.
