Otago Leading In Universities Tournament

Otago has a clear lead over Auckland after the second day of the New Zealand Universities winter tournament in Dunedin yesterday. On the unofficial points table, Otago has 38 points, Auckland 284, Victoria 244, Canterbury 20, Massey 4, and Lincoln 2.

Of the three sports finished Canterbury won the shooting, Otago took the crosscountry and Auckland won the fencing. Details of sports yesterday were:—

Badminton. Victoria is strongly placed, having won all three ot its matches Results: Victoria 16, Lincoln 0; Otago 11, Canterbury 5; Otago 13, Auckland 3; Victoria 13, Canterbury 3.

Cross-Country.— E. Robertson (Massey) strode away over the last mile to win the individual championship. He won by 24.65ec from R. Batten (Auckland).
