D.D.T. In Meat
Sir, —I am concerned to know what is the practice regarding meat which inspectors discover contains D.D.T. residues. Which department of Government is responsible?— Yours, etc., MOTHER OF FOUR.
August 8, 1967. [The Director-General of the Department of Agriculture (Mr D. N. R. Webb) Replies: “Meat that does not comply with the standards fixed by the Health Department for residues is condemned and destroyed in the digester. The Meat Inspection Division of the Department of Agriculture is responsible for the testing and condemnation of the meat.”]
