Trousers Baked

Very soon men will be wearing sports trousers which have been baked in an oven. This is not a selling gimmick. Baking the trousers after pressing is the latest method of permanently and irrevocably putting in the crease. The trousers, now selling in Australia, are wash-and-wearable and need no ironing—not even a light runover. Equipment to permanently press trousers by. the new method is now being installed in a Christchurch factory and will be operating soon. Menswear people in the city say the use of certain synthetic materials in the trousers is the secret behind the permanent press. The trouser is said to have the same amount of wear as any other. After going through the washing machine eight times it still looks as good as the new garment
