Poles Cut Down
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, August 14. Telephone poles were cut down at Kennington. Woodend and Waimatua, near Invercargill, early yesterday, apparently by an expert axeman.
Thirty subscribers were without a telephone service for several hours because of the felling. The first report of damage came from Woodend. Linesmen found a pole cut down there and two others at Kennington and Waimatua. Telephone services were back to normal by noon.
