Otago Asked To Continue With Test Hockey Plan
Although the Otago Hockey Association last night expressed doubts to the New Zealand body that it could conduct the second test against Australia on Sunday, It will be requested to go ahead with the original arrangements. The New Zealand Hockey Association's Management Committee received further correspondence from Otago, which said the Otago association felt it could not accept the test under the original arrangements.
The Otago association had earlier advised that it could not purchase the test for $7OO —the agreed sum—and had suggested the N.Z.H.A. should conduct the match and accept any profit or loss. Members agreed that Otago had accepted the test and, on the motion of the president (Mr D. I. Binnle), It was de-
cided to advise Otago that no variation of the original conditions could be entertained.
An invitation to compete at a pre-Olympic international tournament from January 19 to 28, 1968, was deferred.
