Boys’ Brigade Strength
Boys' Brigade strength in Britain Increased by more than 3000 in the last session. This halts the trend of recent yean which has been for small decreases of membership each year, says a report in the August “Stedfast” magazine.
, The biggest increase was in the older sge groups, there being 3078 more boys within the youth service age range (14 to 21) than in the previous session. The biggest increases were in the 16 and 18 age group. The number of Boys' Brigade members, all ranks, in the British Isles to 174,032, an increase of 3581. Overseas, the figure to 79,299, a decrease ot 520. This temporary check in the last two yean in overseas progress to probably due to political problems in countries where the Boys* Brigade is strong, such as Nigeria, says the magazine. The New Zealand Boys’ Brigade statistics taken at the end of May have not been released to date.
