DAYLIGHT SAVING
Petition To Parliament (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 4. A petition signed by 48,429 supporters urging the Government to Introduce daylight saving will be presented to Parliament on Tuesday by the Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Marshall). The petition was organised by Miss Valerie Poole, of Auckland. It calls for daylight saving by advancing clocks an hour at Labour week-end and retarding clocks an hour at Easter—giving an extra hour of daylight in summer months.
