Price Of Comics

Sir,—Last month we were told that the price shown on the Walt Disney comics sold in the shops were marked in Australian currency: 12 cents or a shilling. How is it my small son was charged 12 cents last week? Or has there been a price rise in the meantime?—Yours, etc., DONALD DUCK.

August 1, 1967. [The South Island manager of Gordon and Gotch (N.Z.) Ltd. (Mr J. G. Grigor), replies: “The correct retail prices for the Donald Duck comic are 10c in New Zealand and 12c in Australia, where it is produced, and I would suggest that the over-charge is due to a temporary lapse by your correspondent's news agent. I am sure that if the matter is discussed with the news agent a refund of 2c will be readily forthcoming because air news agents have had ample advice on the correct retail price of this comic.”]
