Hokitika Flights

The National Airways Corporation will fly a chartered Fokker Friendship to Hokitika on August 19 to take 40 football supporters to Wellington to watch the match between Australia and New Zealand at Athletic Park. It will be the first Friendship to land at Hokitika. The runway, which has an unsealed surface, will have to be swept Normally N.A.C. uses DC3s on its West Coast flights. The DC3s

The Friendship will leave Christchurch at 7.5 a.m. on August 19 and land at Hokitika at 8.20 a.m. It is due at Wellington airport at 9.50 a.m. The aircraft will take the men back to Hokitika the next day. The charter flight waa arranged by the corporation’s traffic and sales supervisor at Nelson (Mr S. Taylor).
