98-15 Win To N.Z. Tourists

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LAUNCESTON.

The touring New Zealand women’s basketball team beat Northern Tasmania, 98-15, yesterday. The score at the end of the first quarter stood at 31-1, after a procession of goals by M. Solomon and M. Gardiner. The New Zealanders showed a developing sense of timing, which bodes well for their chances in the world tournament, which begins in Perth on August 11.

Rugby Training.—The under--20 Rugby team to play North Canterbury on August 26 will train at North Hagley 4 on Sunday.
