Stamp Sales Down

First-day sales of the 1967 health stamp fell short of the amount for the first day last year by $1493, the Deputy ' Chief Postmaster (Mr M. Johnston) said yesterday. The total amount realised ' was $23,209, more than half of wMch was made up of advance sales to business houses and schools. At the Chief Post Office sales amounted to $2778 . wMch was more than last year. But at suburban offices sales were $8346 compared with $10,627 last year. The drop at suburban ■ offices was attributed to the advanced sales campaign conducted by members of the health stamp committee.
