3 Israelis Wounded

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright! TEL AVIV, August 3. Three Israeli soldiers were wounded in three armed clashes with Jordanian troops along the River Jordan yesterday.

The latest of the exchanges of machine-gun and rifle fire came last night. The longest of them was an hour-long burst of shooting this morning in which the three Israelis received minor wounds. It brought to four the number of clashes between the two countries in the last 24 hours.

Reserves Drop.—Britain’s gold and dollar reserves slumped in July to their lowest level since the start of the sterling crisis in September, 1965. They are now £997 million.—London, August 3.
