Nigeria’s Federal Governernment last night announced the capture of the key eastern town of Ogoja and claimed to have killed 2000 troops in the week-old battle against the self-proclaimed Biafra Republic. The Federal Government announcement said three battalions of secessionist troops had been wiped out. Ogoja is the capital of Ogoja province. Federal forces earlier claimed the capture of several places in the northern part of Ogoja province.
