Tidy Gardens

Sir,—l read that in England reluctant tenants will have to pay an extra 10a a week if they refuse to keep their rardens in decent order. The Christchurch City Council and the State Advances Corporation should take up this idea. Some properties are in such shocking order that if something is not done they will in time just turn to slum areas. Widows and pensioners are not included in these remarks.—Yours, etc., GARDENER. July 12, 1967.
