Measures May Be Sufficient

WELLINGTON, July 13. On present indications, subject to successful marketing of next year’s wool clip, no further restrictive economic measures were likely to be necessary, said the Minister of Finance (Mr Mui-
doon) today. He told the Finance Houses Association at a luncheon today that the answer to the marketing of the wool clip would not be known for a few months. Mr Muldoon said that future economic moves should Involve consideration
of both monetary and fiscal measures, in conjunction. A good deal of Government support was likely to be given in the next few months in particular areas where the effects of earlier measures were pressing a little heavily. Some additional provision for bousing contracts had been made in the last few days, -and Government construction work was now being fed out at a rate slightly above normal. This was a compensation for the small amount begun in the first six months of the year, said Mr Muldoon.
