Pit Stops
The South Canterbury Car Club’s club-rooms are being shifted from Saltwater Creek to the site of the proposed permanent racing circuit in Falveys road, Levels. Specifications for the one-mile sealed circuit on the 35-acre property are almost complete, and it is expected forming and sealing will not take long. The club intends to hold a national meeting this year, and run the Timaru Trophy Race next February. The circuit will be one mile west of the Timaru airport and close to the Main south and west highways. It will be eight miles north of Timaru. There are paved access roads and excellent parking facilities. The track will be similar in shape to Levin, but with a flattened hairpin. The back straight will be long enough for standing quarter-mile sprints. • • «
