D. Wallace Profit Rises 13p.c.

Group profit of D. McL. Wallace, Ltd., Auckland engineer, improved by 13 per cent, or $7022, to a record $60,740 in the year to April 30, announce directors in a preliminary report.

They have recommended a final dividend of 6 per cent which makes an unchanged 10 per cent for the year. The final dividend is payable August 31, ex August 17. The latest profit is after providing $5892 more for tax : at $52,260 and $18,670 more for depreciation at $41,742. Results are subject to audit.

On ordinary capital at the end of the 1966 year, the earning rate improves from 25.0 to 28.6 per cent. Profits of Wallace have improved sharply in recent years. In 1964 the profit was $32,864 and in the next year it rose 23 per cent to $40,442.
