POTATO PRICE
“No Control Planned” (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 13. The Government would not impose a maximum price on potatoes, but was watching price movements, Mr D. J. Carter, Undersecretary to the Minister of Agriculture, told the vice-president of the Fnrit Retailers’ Federation (Mr H. L. Cleric, of Auckland) yesterday. The Government believed there were enough potatoes in the country, although prices had risen, he Mid. School Power The Canterbury Education Board will consider the forthcoming increases in the cost of electricity in making its basic fuel grants to schools next year, the Canterbury School Committees’ Association was informed on Wednesday evening.
