TOUR OF FRANCE

Frenchman Wins Stage

(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) DIGNE (France).

J. Samyn, a member of the French B team, won the eleventh stage of the Tour of France, and R. Pingeon, another Frenchman, kept the yellow jersey of race leader on a day which brought little change in the over-all placings. Pingeon still has an advantage of just over four minutes, with F. Gimondi (Italy) and J. Jimenez (Spain) appearing to be the two riders most likely to depose him of the leadership.

Retirements included the Belgian, W. Van Neste, who was the race leader early in the tour, and M. Wright (Britain), winner of the seventh stage—both because of falls.
