MEMORIAL TO COMPOSER.—This unusual memorial, commemorating Torazo Tamura, a composer of children’s songs, has been erected on Totori beach, Japan, by some of his admirers. The music from one of his songs, describing the meeting between the white rabbit and the sea-god, Daikolu, has been engraved on a large sea boulder, representing the rabbit’s head. Totori beach was selected for the memorial because Tamura wrote this particular song there.
