Busy Season Ahead

Canterbury faces a busier cricket season at home than usual. As with every second year, there are three Punket Shield matches at Lancaster Par k—against Auckland and Northern Districts in the week before the New Year, and against Otago from January 9 to 11. Two overseas teams will also play in Christchurch: Fiji against Canterbury, on January 5 and 6, and India, in the second test at the end of February. As well, there is the likelihood of a Canterbury XI playing New Zealand in a first-class match on Show week-end in November. However, it is not certain if this will be played at Lancaster Park.
