“Not Realistic”

The Hillmorton High School board of governors considers unfair the Education Department’s ruling that ancillary staffing hours cannot be aggregated. The headmaster (Mr P. W. Murdoch) said when the board met this week that many principals would like to reduce the hours of such staff at quiet periods and work them longer during examinations, at the end of the year, and other busy times. No extra payment was Involved, but to Insist on, say, 15 hours every week, was not realistic.
