GALA AUDIENCE ACCLAIMS CANTERBURY THEATRE COMPANY FOLLOWING LAST NIGHTS GLITTERING GALA OPENING AND THE CURTAIN HAD FINALLY RUN DOWN AFTER MANY EXTENDED CURTAIN CALLS - A DELIGHTED AUDIENCE LEFT THE THEATRE FULL OF PRAISE FOR THIS TALENTED PROFESSIONAL COMPANY NOW PART OF OUR CITY. HERE ARE A FEW COMMENTS OVERHEARD: I never knew the theatre could be so much fun . . . Bruce Montague reminded me of Dick Van Dyke with his hilarious antics ... I must get a season ticket and not miss a show . . . Tell all your friends "Black Comedy" is a real tonic for the blues ... I laughed till I cried when Barbara Latham first climbed the stairs . . . Nothing funnier than “Black Comedy" has ever been seen in Christchurch . . . this company is fully professional in every way . . . Let's hope they get full houses every night . . . I’ve laughed so hard I’ve laughed away the 'flu . . . Wasn’t Alan Collins a joy? . . . How did that poor man go straight through the trapdoor? . . . What a wonderful performance by Kathleen Hilditch in "White Lies!” . . . The greatest night I've ever had in the theatre . . . Doesn’t the Repertory Theatre look beautiful and so warm and comfortable ... I believe “Bus Stop" is their next show Betzie Parker will be ideal in the leading role ...
