RANDOM REMINDER
SATURDAY, SADLY, WITH THE BOX
He was floating on fluid but he arrived home with a ring of confidence, and the bloodhound they’d hired to track him was sent off by the stars. The situation did not bring out the beauty in her. She was like a giant white tornado, and she was not lovely to live with. But when a man wants coffee, he wants it now, and he wants it hot. He got it hot This is how it starts and this is how to fight it, he said, asking where was his busy bottle.
He should have known he shouldn’t wait to be told, and wished he could have gone invisible. Even after he did the lion’s share of the washing up, there was nothing new, nothing exciting in a social engagement coming up. He reflected bitterly that only one he in three is good eriough. It wasn’t as x if he had any hidden grime: he had remembered to clean his teeth, and had stopped his bad breath, but when a mother sneers, it shows.
It sort of cleaned while it polished. He felt like a grubby little devil, worse than the family and It was obvious that he wasn't good company, too. It was clear they were talking about him, all alrng the way, and time was pressing. Colds too, he thought, were often a family affair. Evop if he covered the conversational floor with rose potals, and trod softly, he wiiuld have to move out, for it was doomed to last.
