EDINBURGH. B. Gallagher, aged 18, outstripped a field which Included 12 internationals in the first Scottish Open amateur 72-hole stroke play golf championship.

His aggregate of 291 gave him his greatest victory In an outstanding season in which he had already won three other open events. Gallagher, who has concentrated on his golf since he left school in March, began the day two strokes ahead and increased that to win by five strokes.
