Rice-Bowl Appeal

The Save the Children Fund’s national rice-bowl appeal will be held from September 15 to 22. In the annual report of the North Canterbury branch of the fund, one of the organisers, Mr E. E. Booth, says that the appeal is to be held about three months later this year because the previous date was unsatisfactory to several other organisations. “In view of the current world situation, your help and support for these unfortunate children will be more necessary than ever,” he says.
