Dom. Brew. Raises Div. To 12 ½ p.c.
fNew Zealand Prest Associations AUCKLAND, June 30. Dominion Breweries, Ltd., Auckland, has recommended a higher dividend for the second year in succession, after an improvement of 18.6 per cent in consolidated net profit, according to a preliminary announcement.
Recommended. final ordinary and preference dividend is 7 per cent, raising total
dividend for both from 12 to 12 J per cent. Last year total preference and ordinary dividend was increased from 11 to 12 per cent, after a- 16.7 per cent higher net profit. Record Profit The consolidated net profit for the year to March 31 is £717,176—an improvement of £Bs,Blo—and the highest recorded by the company. The directors report that profitability was satisfactory in all departments, and that, notwithstanding the substantial capital development programme, rising costs, and the economic conditions, the board considers a moderate increase in the dividend warranted.
The final dividends will go out on July 27, and the shares will be ex dividend on July 19.
