Took Axe To Ball

MELBOURNE. A 47-year-old man who “axed" a boy’s Australian Rules football which bounced into his backyard, was fined $lO in Cheltenham Court yesterday. The man, Domenico Alzetta, was also ordered to pay $7.50 costs—the price of the football. Wayne Elsmore, aged 13, said his ball bounced over the fenee. He saw Alzetta take it to a woodchopping block and hit it with an axe.
