New Centre Helps Build Y.M.C.A. Membership
About 150 people of all ages had visited the new Y.M.C.A. centre in Hereford street each day since it was opened on June 18, said the girls’ and women’s secretary of the association (Mrs 0. Smith), yesterday. Mrs Smith, who is also squash director at the centre, said that good use was being made of all activities at present available. Special children’s classes on Saturday mornings had been particularly popular. Activities at present include gymnastics, work on the trampoline, judo and ju- ;
jitsu, badminton, table tennis, volley ball, basketball, squash, weight-lifting, and fitness classes. Mrs Smith said that membership of the association was increasing, and special classes for various age groups had been started. t A sauna room is being com- 5 pleted.
