TV NEWS IN U.K.

New Bulletins Planned (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P A.) LONDON, June 26. The half-hour news bulletins to be introduced next month by Independent Television are intended to be “the equivalent of a morning newspaper, rather than a late edition of an afternoon newspaper” for viewers, said New Zealandborn Sir Geoffrey Cox, editor, of “Independent Television News.” The bulletins, called “News At Ten,” will start on Monday, July 3, and will be screened at 10 p.m., instead of 8.55 p.m. as at present. If they live up to expectations the bulletins will provide a mass television audience with more “in-depth” news every week-day evening than all the commercial television current affairs programmes have done so far.
