10,681 N.Z. Skiers
The 10,681 skiers registered with ski-ing clubs throughout New Zealand represent about a third of those who ski regularly.
Forty-two North Island clubs have 6770 members and 19 South Island clubs have 3911 members. New Zealand’s largest club is Ruapehu Ski Club with 1250 members and two other North Island clubs have more than a thousand members.
Christchurch Ski Club is the South Island’s largest (550) and two other Canterbury clubs have more than 500 members, Canterbury Winter Sports Club (510) and Amuri Ski Club (501). Canterbury has 12 clubs with 2919 members and Otago seven clubs with 992 members.
