C.O.R.S.O. £135,000

VN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 18. C.0.R.5.0.’s week-end door-knock appeal for its Freedom from Hunger campaign has yielded a provisional total of £135,106. This is a £5OOO drop on last year’s £140,865, but several country returns have still to be counted. The campaign's national secretary, the Rev. H. C. Dixon, said the current economic conditions and next week’s Budget were the main factors responsible for the drop. He said the appeal would remain open for the rest of the year. C.0.R.5.0.’s 1967 target is £400,000. With an extra £65,000 already in hand the campaign is just over halfway to its goal.
