MEDICAL CORPS

Attendance at the University of Otago Medical Corps annual camp at Bumham Military Camp was the best for 10 years, an Army spokesman sail in Christchurch. At present living under canvas are 102 members of the company, an increase of 50 per cent over camps in previous years.

The reason for the higher attendance was that the camp had been held later this year. Previously it was held in January or February when students were working. Members of the company entered Bumham on May 11 and will remain until May 25. For the bulk of their training they have been receiving instraction at the Medical Corps Depot Today they will move to Little Malaya, near Oxford, for two days’ of field training which will involve infantry work and casualty evacuation exercises.
