NEW JET PLANNED

Proposal By 3 Countries

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) PARIS, May 10.

Britain, France and West Germany agreed in principle yesterday on the joint development of a giant twin-jet plane capable of carrying 330 passengers over distances of up to 2000 miles. British sources said that France and West Germany had agreed that the “Eurobus” would be powered by two Rolls-Royce RB-207 engines instead of the originally-advo-cated American Pratt and Whitney JT9D.

The three countries were reported to have agreed on spending $2OOO million on research and design.
