Highland Dancing
One hundred and nine children competed in highland dancing competitions held by the Canterbury Piping and Dancing Association, at the Phillipstown School Hall. The judge was Miss L. Grenfell, of Christchurch. Results:—
Highland Fling.—Under 8: J. Dillard 1. A. Howel 2, K. Ralife 3. 8 and under 10: G. Stephens 1, J. Thomas 2, D. Lock 3. 10 and under 12: L. Berry 1, S. Fitzsimon 2, M. Savage 3.
GilMe Callum. —Under 8: K. Lyman 1, M. Coppens 2, J. Dillard 3. 8 and under 10: K. Kackwell 1, C. Carr 2, P. Sheppard 3.
Sean Triubhais.—lo and under 12: G. Stephens 1, J. Thomas 2, D. Lock 3. 12 and under 14: A. Glover 1.
