County Welcome
“The people of the Paparua County are proud that this year’s World Ploughing Contest is being held in their district, containing some of the most productive agricultural land in Canterbury,” says the chairman of the county council, Mr D. H. Warren.
“On their behalf 1 extend ,a very friendly welcome to contestants and visitors and a special greeting to those who have travelled so far to take part in this contest. “To the New Zealand Ploughing Association and to those closely associated with the extensive arrangements involved, I extend best wishes for a most successful function.”
