60% Passed In
The wool market was depressed when the final Christchurch sale of the 1966-67 season was held In the Wool Exchange yesterday. Passings to the trade and the Wool Commission exceeded 17,000 bales—about 60 per cent of the offering. There was a procession of passings, and sometimes wool failed to attract any bids from the trade. The better-style Merino and fine halfbred wools sold at similar levels to
those ruling In Christchurch In March, but average and Inferior wools and the stronger halfbreds were cheaper.
The crossbred market was largely unchanged, the Wool Commission having to support this section of the sale extensively. Since the last sale in Christchurch the commission has had to extend its support to the finer crossbreds, and yesterday even to the coarser end of the fine wools.
A fuller report of the sale is on Page 20.
