(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The youth and vigour of the New Zealand feather-weight boxing champion, Toro George, were too much for the veteran Australian. Max Murphy, in an interesting if not very exciting 10-round bout at Auckland last night. George won on points. A feature of the amateur middle-weight bouts was the return to boxing after three years of the former New Zealand representative, P. Bell (Edgecumbe), who survived a knockdown in the first round to beat an Aucklander. R. Opetaia, on points. Haley’s Bout (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. S. Haley, a Tongan, beat M. Clay (Fiji) In the second round of a 12-round heavy-weight bout at Dunedin last night. B Sua (Samoa) deservedly outpointed the more experienced J. Moana (Tonga) In a middle-weight preliminary.
